Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The AKR1C4 gene encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, consisting of more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. These enzymes catalyze the conversion of aldehydes and ketones to their corresponding alcohols using NADH and/or NADPH as cofactors. They exhibit overlapping but distinct substrate specificities. AKR1C4 catalyzes the bioreduction of chlordecone, a toxic organochlorine pesticide, to chlordecone alcohol in the liver. This gene shares high sequence identity with three other family members and is clustered with them at chromosome 10p15-p14.
