Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene acts as a receptor for aryl hydrocarbons and functions as a ligand-activated transcription factor. It is localized in the cytoplasm as part of a multiprotein complex and translocates to the nucleus upon ligand binding. This protein regulates the expression of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes and can bind specifically to and inhibit hepatitis B virus activity.
