Target Information
Talin is a multifunctional component of cell-substratum attachment sites and a high molecular weight protein (225–235 kDa) found in various tissues and cell types. It localizes at adherens junctions and cell-matrix associations characterized by filamentous actin at the cytoplasmic face of the junctional complex. In cultured cells, talin is mainly found at adhesion plaques and fibrillar streaks underlying fibronectin. Talin interacts with vinculin and integrin, both localized at adhesion plaques.
