Target Information
A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), confining the holoenzyme to discrete cellular locations.
The AKAP10 gene encodes a dual-specific AKAP that interacts with both type I and type II regulatory subunits of PKA.
This protein is highly enriched in mitochondria and contains RGS domains as well as a PKA-RII subunit-binding domain.
Its mitochondrial localization and domain composition suggest roles in PKA and G protein signal transduction.
