Target Information
DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They participate in various cellular processes involving RNA secondary structure alterations, such as translation initiation, splicing, and ribosome assembly.
DDX11 encodes a DEAD box protein with ATPase and DNA helicase activities. It is homologous to the yeast CHL1 gene and may function in maintaining chromosome transmission fidelity and genome stability.
