Target Information
Granzyme K (GrK) is a trypsin-like serine protease localized in cytotoxic granules of activated T cells and NK cells. It encodes a 28 kDa protease located on chromosome 5q11–12 near the granzyme A gene. Granzyme K cleaves at basic residues (arginine, lysine) and induces rapid, caspase-independent cell death. It is primarily expressed in thymus, lung, spleen, and peripheral blood leukocytes.
