Target Information
Angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4) is a secreted protein selectively expressed in adipose tissue, liver, and placenta. It plays roles in adipogenesis, angiogenesis, and carcinogenesis. Its expression is regulated by nutritional and hormonal factors. ANGPTL4 induces a strong pro-angiogenic response independent of VEGF and is expressed in hypoxic human tissues and various cancers, including liposarcoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and renal cell carcinoma.
