Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins specific to neurons and consist mainly of NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. NF-H plays a crucial role in maintaining neuronal caliber and is associated with mature axons. It is also implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
