3-Hydroxy-3-Methylglutaryl-CoA Reductase (HMGCR) is a key enzyme in the mevalonate pathway, critical for the biosynthesis of cholesterol and other isoprenoids.
HMGCR catalyzes the conversion of HMG-CoA to mevalonate, a rate-limiting step in cholesterol production.
