Target Information
TRIB1 (also known as G protein coupled receptor induced, SKIP1, GIG2, C8FWATP) participates in protein binding, protein kinase inhibitor activity, and protein serine/threonine kinase activities.
Overexpression of TRIB1 in HeLa cells represses IL8 promoter activity by inhibiting AP1. It also inhibits Ras-driven and MEKK1-mediated AP1 activation, while enhancing ERK activation.
Interactions have been observed between MEK1 and TRIB1/3, and between MKK4 and TRIB1, suggesting TRIB-MAPKK interactions stabilize TRIB1.
