This antibody detects tyrosine phosphorylation in activated cells.
Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a critical role in signal transduction from transmembrane receptors and oncogene tyrosine kinases. It is a key mechanism in mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation, and continues to be actively studied in differentiation and intercellular communication.
Antibodies recognizing phosphorylated tyrosine residues are essential tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and their biochemical pathways.
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is especially useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical assays where secondary antibody use may complicate detection.
