CaMKII delta는 serine/threonine protein kinase 계열에 속하며, Ca(2+)/calmodulin 의존성 단백질 인산화효소 하위 계열에 속합니다. 칼슘 신호전달은 글루타메이트성 시냅스에서의 가소성 조절에 필수적입니다. 포유류 세포에서 이 효소는 alpha, beta, gamma, delta의 네 가지 사슬로 구성됩니다. 이 항체는 delta 사슬을 인식하며, 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 다양한 아이소폼이 생성됩니다. 각 아이소폼은 상이한 발현 패턴을 가집니다.
