Target Information
The CTBP1 gene encodes a protein that binds to the C-terminus of adenovirus E1A proteins. This phosphoprotein functions as a transcriptional repressor and may play a role in cellular proliferation. CTBP1 and the closely related CTBP2 can dimerize and interact with polycomb group protein complexes involved in gene expression regulation during development. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
