Target Information
Aldehyde dehydrogenases are a family of isozymes involved in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. The ALDH3B1 gene spans approximately 20 kb and contains 9 coding exons. It is highly expressed in kidney and lung tissues. Although the precise function and localization of the ALDH3B1 protein remain unclear, alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
