This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CNGB3.
Target Information
Visual signal transduction is mediated by a G-protein coupled cascade using cGMP as a second messenger. This protein can be activated by cGMP, leading to the opening of the cation channel and depolarization of rod photoreceptors. It induces flickering channel gating, weakens outward rectification in the presence of extracellular calcium, increases sensitivity to L-cis diltiazem, and enhances cAMP efficiency when coexpressed with CNGA3. CNGB3 is essential for generating light-evoked electrical responses in red-, green-, and blue-sensitive cones.
