Target Information
STING is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-kappa-B and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferons (IFN-α and IFN-β), establishing an antiviral state. STING may also function as a translocon influencing interferon induction and mediates apoptotic signaling through interactions with MHC-II. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed in most tissues.
