Target Information
CDC42BPB is a serine/threonine kinase involved in actin cytoskeleton assembly and organization. Myotonic dystrophy kinase-related Cdc42-binding kinases (MRCK-alpha, MRCK-beta) contain a cysteine-rich motif and a pleckstrin homology domain. MRCKs phosphorylate nonmuscle myosin light chain and influence actin-myosin contractility. MRCK-alpha can activate LIM kinases downstream of Cdc42, leading to inactivation of ADF/Cofilin and actin cytoskeletal reorganization. MRCK-alpha also affects neurite outgrowth promoted by Cdc42 and Rac.
