Lano는 LAP(leucine-rich repeats and PDZ) 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, Densin-180, Erbin, hScribble을 포함합니다. LAP 단백질은 일반적으로 LRR 도메인을 포함하여 상피세포의 기저외측막에 위치합니다. Lano는 다른 LAP 단백질과 달리 PDZ 도메인을 가지지 않지만, Erbin 및 MAGUK 단백질의 PDZ 도메인과 결합할 수 있습니다. 이러한 상호작용을 통해 LAP 단백질은 배아 발달과 상피조직의 구조적 완전성 유지에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
