Target Information
IFIT3 is an IFN-induced antiviral protein that inhibits cellular and viral processes including migration, proliferation, signaling, and viral replication. It enhances MAVS-mediated antiviral responses by bridging TBK1 to MAVS, activating TBK1 and IRF3, which subsequently promotes antiviral gene transcription. IFIT3 exhibits antiproliferative activity by upregulating cell cycle inhibitors CDKN1A/p21 and CDKN1B/p27. It sequesters COPS5 in the cytoplasm, increasing nuclear CDKN1B/p27 levels, and downregulates MYC to enhance CDKN1A/p21 expression. IFIT3 can also negatively regulate the apoptotic effects of IFIT2.
