Target Information
Secretoglobins (also called lipophilins or mammaglobins) are small secreted proteins found in endocrine-responsive organs and mucosal epithelia. They form multimeric complexes and are associated with various human cancers.
Lipophilin A (LIPA, LPHA, SCGB1D1) is a component of a heterodimeric molecule present in human tears.
Lipophilin B (LIPB, LPHB, SCGB1D2) mRNA can be overexpressed in breast tumors and correlates with mammaglobin expression.
Histological detection of Mammaglobin A (MGB1, SCGB2A2) and Mammaglobin B (MGB2, LPHC, UGB3, SCGB2A2) is a reliable diagnostic marker for breast tumors.
