Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
RBP4 belongs to the lipocalin family and acts as a specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A) in the blood. It transports retinol from liver stores to peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin, preventing renal filtration loss. Vitamin A deficiency blocks post-translational secretion of RBP4, impairing retinol delivery to epidermal cells.
