Semaphorin-4D는 A8, BB18, GR3, CD100으로도 알려져 있으며, semaphorin 계열에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 1개의 Ig-like C2-type 도메인, 1개의 PSI 도메인, 1개의 Sema 도메인을 포함합니다. PLXN1B 및 PLXNB2의 세포 표면 수용체로 작용하며, 세포 간 신호 전달에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 소뇌 과립 세포 및 내피 세포의 이동을 촉진하고, 수상돌기 및 축삭 가지 형성과 형태 발생을 조절합니다. 또한 SRC 및 PTK2B/PYK2를 통한 신호 전달을 촉진하여 PI3K 및 AKT1 신호 전달 경로의 활성화를 매개합니다.
