Background
NGF는 Neurotrophin 계열의 최초 발견 단백질로, BDNF, NT-3, NT-4 등을 포함합니다. 이들은 cysteine-knot 구조를 가진 안정적인 이합체 형태의 성장인자입니다. Mouse β-NGF는 두 개의 120 아미노산 폴리펩타이드로 구성된 동형이합체이며, 인간 β-NGF와 약 90%, 랫 β-NGF와는 95.8%의 아미노산 서열 상동성을 가집니다. NGF 신호전달은 신경 보호 및 재생에 중요한 역할을 하며, β-NGF는 B 림프구의 성장 및 생존을 촉진하고, 감각 및 교감신경계의 발달과 유지에 필수적인 신경영양인자로 작용합니다.
