Background
C-C motif chemokine 9 (CCL9)은 약 11 kDa 크기의 분비형 단량체 폴리펩타이드로, β(또는 CC) 인터크린 케모카인 패밀리에 속합니다. 주로 간, 폐, 흉선에서 발현되며, 뇌를 제외한 다양한 조직에서도 발현이 확인되었습니다.
CCL9은 염증성, 발열성 및 화학주성 특성을 가지며, 건강한 동물의 혈중에서 높은 농도로 순환합니다. 고친화성 수용체에 결합하여 호중구 내 칼슘 방출을 유도하고, 골수 조혈 전구세포의 콜로니 형성을 억제합니다. 또한, 수용체 CCR1을 통해 파골세포를 활성화하여 골 흡수 과정에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
