배경(Background)
Galectin-9은 두 개의 galectin 도메인을 포함하는 세포질 단백질로, S-type lectin에 속합니다. Hodgkin 병 조직에서 과발현되며, galactosides 및 Forssman pentasaccharide에 높은 친화성을 가집니다. Thymocyte-epithelial 상호작용에 관여하며 세포 증식을 억제합니다. 또한 HAVCR2/TIM3의 리간드로 작용하여 Th1 림프구 사멸을 유도하고, CD44, VCAM-1, Integrin α4β1과의 상호작용을 방해하여 종양 전이를 억제합니다.
