Background
Interleukin 23 (IL-23)는 두 개의 이황화 결합된 서브유닛(p19, p40)으로 구성된 이형이량체 사이토카인입니다.
p19 서브유닛은 IL-23에 특이적이며 IL-12의 p35 서브유닛 및 IL-6, IL-11과 같은 단일 사슬 사이토카인과 상동성을 가집니다.
p40 서브유닛은 조혈성 사이토카인 수용체의 세포외 도메인과 유사합니다.
활성화된 대식세포와 수지상세포만이 p19와 p40을 동시에 발현하여 IL-23을 생성합니다.
IL-23은 IL-12와 유사하지만, 주로 메모리 T세포에 작용하는 특성이 있습니다.
