망막 신경절 세포(RGC)의 축삭이 중뇌의 tectum으로 이동하도록 돕고, 뇌 발달 및 손상 후 반흔 형성에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한 일부 암에서 종양 억제 인자로 작용할 가능성이 있습니다.
