Target Information
ASL 유전자는 lyase 1 패밀리에 속하는 단백질을 암호화하며, 세포질 내에서 homotetramer 형태로 존재합니다. 이 효소는 argininosuccinate를 arginine과 fumarate로 가수분해하는 반응을 촉매하여, 간의 요소 회로를 통해 암모니아를 해독하는 데 필수적인 역할을 합니다.
이 유전자 변이는 상염색체 열성 질환인 argininosuccinic aciduria(argininosuccinic acid lyase deficiency)를 유발할 수 있습니다. 또한 염색체 22의 장완에는 비전사성 유사유전자가 존재하며, 다양한 isoform을 생성하는 대체 스플라이싱 변이도 보고되었습니다.
