Target Information

Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans.
NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-kB (Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells).
Upon TNF-α binding to its receptor, IKK is phosphorylated, leading to phosphorylation and proteasomal degradation of IκB. This process releases NF-kB p65 to translocate into the nucleus, where it regulates transcription of target genes, including the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
