RAB3GAP1은 Rab3-GAP 촉매 서브유닛 패밀리에 속하는 981개의 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질입니다. Rab3 GAP p130은 활성형 RAB3-GTP를 비활성형 RAB3-GDP로 변환시키며, 정상적인 안구 및 뇌 발달에 필수적입니다. Rab3 GAP p130의 결함은 Warburg micro syndrome 1 (WARBM1)의 원인이 됩니다. WARBM1은 안구 및 중추신경계의 발달 이상과 소생식기형을 특징으로 하는 중증 상염색체 열성 질환입니다. Rab3 GAP p130은 시냅스 형성 전 신경발달 과정(증식, 이동, 분화) 및 비시냅스성 신경전달물질 방출에 관여할 수 있습니다.
