Target Information
CXCL12 is a stromal cell-derived alpha chemokine and a member of the intercrine family. Together with its receptor CXCR4, it activates lymphocytes and is implicated in cancer metastasis such as breast cancer. Mutations in this gene confer resistance to HIV-1 infection. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
