Target Information

The normal physiological role of BLM hydrolase is unknown, but it catalyzes the inactivation of the antitumor drug bleomycin (a glycopeptide) by hydrolyzing the carboxamide bond of its β-aminoalaninamide moiety, thus protecting normal and malignant cells from bleomycin toxicity.
