For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

SMAD2 (also known as MADH2, MAD2) regulates multiple cellular processes including cell proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation.
It interacts with TGF-β receptors through the SMAD anchor for receptor activation, enabling nuclear translocation—a key event in TGF-β signaling.
Phosphorylation by ERK1 enhances SMAD2 transcriptional activity, while calmodulin negatively regulates it.
Upon TGF-β stimulation, SMAD2 is phosphorylated, dissociates from SARA, and associates with SMAD4, facilitating nuclear translocation and transcriptional regulation.
SMAD2 can also be phosphorylated by activin type 1 receptor kinase, mediating activin signaling.
Alternative splicing variants of SMAD2 have been observed.
