Target Information
Dapper homolog 1 (DACT1), an ortholog of Xenopus Dpr, antagonizes Wnt signaling by promoting Dvl degradation via a lysosome inhibitor-sensitive and proteasome inhibitor-insensitive mechanism.
It interacts with Dvl through the DEP domain and the central/C-terminal regions of DACT1.
Human DACT1 gene is located at chromosomal region 14q23.1.
The protein prevents CTNNB1/beta-catenin degradation, enhancing transcriptional activation of Wnt target genes.
DACT1 is essential for normal notochord formation and is downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Expressed in human liver and various tissues.
