Target Information
AMOT (Angiomotin) belongs to the motin family of angiostatin-binding proteins characterized by conserved coiled-coil domains and C-terminal PDZ-binding motifs.
AMOT plays a central role in tight junction maintenance via complex formation with ARHGAP17, regulating polarity protein uptake at tight junctions.
It is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells of capillaries and larger vessels of the placenta, where it mediates the inhibitory effect of angiostatin on tube formation and endothelial cell migration during angiogenesis.
