Target Information
FGF10 belongs to the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, which plays key roles in mitogenic and cell survival activities. Members of this family are involved in embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion.
FGF10 shows mitogenic activity for keratinizing epidermal cells but minimal activity for fibroblasts, similar to FGF7. Studies on the mouse homolog suggest FGF10 is essential for embryonic epidermal morphogenesis, brain and lung development, and limb bud formation. It is also implicated in wound healing processes.
