This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Human HDAC4.

Target Information

Histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) is responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4).
Histone deacetylation provides a tag for epigenetic repression and plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental processes.
HDAC4 acts via large multiprotein complexes and is involved in muscle maturation through interaction with myocyte enhancer factors (MEF2A, MEF2C, MEF2D).
It also participates in MTA1-mediated epigenetic regulation of ESR1 expression in breast cancer.
Mutations in the HDAC4 gene are associated with Brachydactyly-mental retardation syndrome (BDMR).
