Product Specific Information
Specifically recognizes an epitope encoded by exon v6 on the variant portion of murine CD44.
Standard CD44 (CD44s) lacks the entire variable region and is found mainly in cells of lymphohematopoietic origin.
The multiple isoforms (CD44v; v = variant) contain alternatively spliced exons inserted within the extracellular domain.
These isoforms include CD44v1 through CD44v11.
BMS145 is suitable for ELISA and Western Blot analysis.

Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa cell surface glycoprotein widely expressed on human leukocytes, white matter of the brain, and various epithelial cells.
Several isoforms exist, with CD44H being predominant in many normal tissues.
CD44 acts as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and is involved in cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration.
It also participates in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing.
CD44 expression may increase in certain carcinomas, potentially relating to metastatic potential.
