Target Information
Ribosomes are the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. RPL13 is a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L13E family. It is localized in the cytoplasm and expressed at higher levels in benign breast lesions compared to breast carcinomas. Multiple transcript variants and processed pseudogenes exist for this gene.
