LIPG (Lipase G, Endothelial type)은 지질단백질 리파아제 유전자 패밀리의 새로운 구성원으로, 내피세포에서 합성되어 합성 부위에서 기능합니다. LIPG는 지질단백질 대사 조절에 생리학적 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 과발현 시 HDL 콜레스테롤을 감소시키고 결핍 시 HDL 콜레스테롤을 증가시킵니다. 또한 LIPG는 상당한 포스포리파아제 활성을 가지며, 혈관 생물학 및 지질단백질 대사에 관여합니다. TG lipase family의 특징적인 lid region을 포함하며, 기질 특이성을 제공합니다. LIPG는 고밀도 지질단백질을 가수분해하고, 트리글리세리드를 유화하며, 식이 지방의 소화 효율에 필수적인 카복실 에스터라아제로서 헤파린 결합 능력을 가집니다.
