Target Information
The spiral-shaped bacterium Helicobacter pylori is strongly associated with inflammation of the stomach and implicated in the development of gastric malignancy. H. pylori causes peptic ulcers and chronic gastritis in humans and is associated with duodenal ulcers. It may also contribute to adenocarcinoma and low-grade lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue in the stomach.
This antibody stains individual H. pylori bacterium on the surface of epithelium or within epithelial cytoplasm in biopsy tissue sections from the antrum and body of the stomach.
