Invitrogen™ NGF beta Canine ProcartaPlex™ Simplex Kit

The Canine NGF beta Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures NGF beta protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits to create custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits (not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is needed per assay plate, regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of a protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.

The Luminex beads in the ProcartaPlex assay are internally dyed with red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex xMAP detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Similar to a sandwich ELISA, matched antibody pairs identify the protein of interest. Each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead and remains free-floating in solution. Detection instruments like Luminex 200 use two lasers: one to identify the bead’s spectral signature, and another to quantify RPE fluorescence, proportional to the protein amount present in the sample.

ProcartaPlex multiplex assays can profile more target proteins using significantly less sample and time compared to traditional ELISA. Multiplex panels are available across six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine).
