Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity purified antibody is directed against human PACRG protein. A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with human, mouse, and chicken PACRG proteins based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Cross-reactivity with zebrafish and rat PACRG may occur (94% homology). Expect reactivity with both splice variants of this protein. Cross-reactivity with PACRG homologues from other species has not been determined.

Target Information

PACRG is a conserved protein across metazoans. In vertebrates, this gene is arranged head-to-head with the adjacent parkin gene, associated with autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson’s disease. Both genes are co-regulated via a bi-directional promoter and are linked to leprosy susceptibility. PACRG forms complexes with chaperones such as HSP70, HSP90, and chaperonin components, and is a component of Lewy bodies in Parkinson’s disease, where it suppresses unfolded Pael receptor-induced neuronal cell death.
