This antibody detects endogenous levels of total ID4 protein.
Target Information
ID4 is a transcription factor containing a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) motif that regulates expression of tissue-specific genes in various mammalian and insect systems. DNA-binding activity of bHLH proteins depends on homo- and/or heterodimer formation. Dominant-negative HLH proteins encoded by Id-related genes, such as ID4, contain the HLH dimerization domain but lack the DNA-binding basic domain. Consequently, Id proteins inhibit DNA binding and transcriptional activation by heterodimerizing with bHLH proteins.
