Target Information
SIRP gamma (CD172g) recognizes a 55 kDa signal regulatory protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on most T lymphocytes and a subset of B-cells but is absent on myeloid cells. CD172g has a truncated cytoplasmic tail similar to SIRP beta, but unlike SIRP beta, CD172g does not require DAP12 for surface expression. Like SIRP alpha, CD172g binds to CD47 and can induce apoptosis. It also participates in negative regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling.
