Target Information
Cyclins are key regulatory proteins involved in eukaryotic cell cycle control. The cyclin B/Cdc2 p34 kinase complex is the active component of the maturation-promoting factor. Cyclin A accumulates earlier than cyclin B, regulates the S phase, and associates with cyclin-dependent kinase-2 (Cdk2). It is involved in cell transformation and interacts with E1A, transcription factors DRTF1, E2F, and retinoblastoma protein p110. Cyclin A1, a second form of cyclin A, is highly expressed in germ cells and can associate with Cdk2, p39, and Cdc2 p34.
