Target Information
Arylsulfatase F (ARSF) is a 590 amino acid secretory protein belonging to the sulfatase family involved in bone and cartilage matrix maintenance. It uses calcium as a cofactor and is not inhibited by warfarin, unlike Arylsulfatase E. The ARSF gene maps to human chromosome X, which plays a key role in sex determination and is associated with conditions such as Turner’s syndrome, color blindness, hemophilia, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
