Positive controls include CD130 recombinant protein, Raji cell and mouse lung tissue lysates, HUVEC, LOVO, human prostate, liver, kidney, and pancreas tissues.
Target Information
The GP130 protein acts as a signal transducer shared by multiple cytokines such as IL6, CNTF, LIF, and OSM. It functions as part of the cytokine receptor complex and is activated upon cytokine binding. The viral IL6 (vIL6), encoded by Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, can directly activate GP130 without IL6R. Knockout studies in mice indicate its essential role in regulating myocyte apoptosis. Various isoforms are produced through alternative splicing.
