이 단백질은 GATA3 유전자의 음성 조절 영역(IRR) 내 5'-AGGTCTC-3' 염기서열에 결합하는 서열 특이적 DNA 결합 인자입니다.
ZC3H8의 과발현은 흉선세포(apoptosis)를 유도하여, 흉선세포 항상성 조절에 관여할 가능성을 시사합니다.
