Target Information
Cadherins are transmembrane glycoproteins involved in calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. They are differentially expressed across tissues and play key roles in maintaining tissue integrity and morphogenesis.
Type I cadherins include E-, N-, P-, and R-cadherins, while Type II cadherins include K-cadherin (Cadherin-6) and OB-cadherin (Cadherin-11).
Cadherin-6 is expressed in the proximal tubule epithelium of the kidney, from which most renal cell carcinomas originate.
